I’ve been going back and forth in my head with potential holiday plans for this summer. Initially I was thinking about going to the Bahamas, then I thought about a Caribbean cruise, or going off to Mexico. But this week my mind has been on Europe, specifically France. I’ve even posted on Instagram a photo from a museum in Paris as a #TBT.
This Travel Tuesday, I’ve decided to share some photos of landmarks in France’s most popular city Paris. I hope you enjoy them!
Above : Pantheon, Paris. Initially built as a church, it is now a mausoleum of distinguished French citizens.
Above : The Dome de Invalides, Paris.
Napoleons tomb is found here.
Above : Notre-Dame de Paris. Meaning “Our Lady of Paris” is medieval Catholic Cathedral.
Above : The Louvre. Popular museum in Paris.
Above : Sainte-Chapelle, Paris. Is gothic style royal chapel which is my opinion has one of the most beautiful stained glass windows.
Above : Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Paris. Translated “Sacred Heart” Sacré-Cœur is a Roman Catholic Church.
Above : Montmartre, Paris. This is my favorite little section in Paris. Just a short walk from Sacré-Cœur is an art lovers delight. I’ve had some great food here too.
Above : View of Champs-Elysees from Arc de Triomphe, Paris.
Above : Arc de Triomphe, Paris. King Louis-Philippe dedicated this monument to the armies of the revolution and the empire. The unknown soldier is buried at the base of the arc.
Above : Grande Roue de Paris, at the Place de la Concorde in Paris. When this wheel was built and installed in 1900, it was the tallest wheel in the world at that time.
Above : Eiffel Tower, Paris. Without a doubt the most iconic landmark in Paris, the Eiffel Tower was not intended to be a permanent structure. It is one of the most visited monuments in the world.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my photos and my little captions. If you plan on visiting Paris and you need some help, or have question don’t hesitate to ask.
